Teresa chose to paint the murder of George Floyd because she was so impacted emotionally by his horrific death. "I wanted to show how our justice system in too many cases is broken and create a feeling that may lead to action with the viewer of my art that will inspire positive change. This is my expression of both desperation and hope," Teresa states.

This canvas has many elements to it. Composed of four large canvasses joined together, the overall theme is to show how our justice system in so many areas is broken. It is the difficult scene that shows the power and control the police have over African Americans. The murder of George Floyd is occurring in the far left and images of police detaining protesters. Over these images, I painted bloody broken letters of Justice to reemphasize how our system and our global society is desperately in need of change.
