Artist Statement:
My work embraces a multi-layered mixed media approach, seamlessly blending traditional acrylic painting techniques with digital manipulation and contemporary printing methods. This fusion of analog and digital artistry creates distinctive, illustrative portraits that carry an abstract edge. Recognized locally for my unique style, I am swiftly gaining national attention for these innovative creations.
About Mara Shane:
Born and raised in Southern California, Mara Shane draws inspiration from the vibrant Pop Art and iconic music figures of the 80s and 90s, including Madonna, Prince, and David Bowie. Her art captures the timeless essence of that era while infusing it with a contemporary twist, embodying a distinct "LA meets San Francisco" vibe.
Mara's work has been showcased in notable venues such as the Desert Valley Art Gallery in Las Vegas and the Avanti Art Gallery, where she was featured in the "Best of 2023." Her pieces have also been exhibited at the Las Laguna Art Gallery in Laguna Beach. Upcoming, she will present a pop-up exhibition of her custom art jackets during Coachella weekend at That Gallery on El Paseo in Palm Desert.
