Ayeni Favour Ayodeji (Femax Art) is a Nigerian visual artist from Lagos and a B.Tech graduate in Industrial Design from the Federal University of Technology, Akure. His upbringing exposed him to both the harsh realities of survival and the structure of middle-class life, experiences that continue to shape his artistic perspective.

His artistic journey began in elementary school, inspired by watching his elder siblings draw. What started as curiosity soon evolved into a personal language of expression. Today, his practice is rooted in abstractive realism and symbolism, exploring the fragile relationship between the mind, body, and lived experience. Through his work, he investigates themes of identity, internal struggle, resilience, and the psychological dimensions of human existence.

Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, Femax Art creates emotionally driven works that invite reflection and spark introspection. Drawing from personal experiences and observations of the world around him, he employs symbolism and expressive imagery to translate complex emotions and ideas into visual narratives that encourage deeper engagement with the human condition. his work have been exhibited in shows including oju ona, art meet architecture and the living canvas, akure.

The weight we carry within

My work explores the fragile relationship between the mind, body, and lived experience. Through abstractive realism and symbolism, I investigate the psychological and emotional dimensions of human existence, examining how identity, memory, resilience, and personal experiences shape the way we navigate the world.
I am interested in the complexities that exist beneath the surface of everyday life, the internal conflicts we conceal, the beliefs that define us, and the moments of transformation that emerge from struggle and self-discovery. Drawing from personal experiences and observations, I create visual narratives that bridge individual stories and shared human realities.
Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, I use symbolism, expressive imagery, and layered compositions to communicate ideas that cannot always be expressed through words. Figures, objects, and visual metaphors become vessels for exploring emotional states, psychological tension, and the continuous process of becoming. My intention is not to provide definitive answers, but to create spaces for reflection, allowing viewers to find their own meanings and connections within
the work.
